AMTA Smoke Tree Ranch

Palm Springs, CA

March 10 – 15, 2024

The American Medical Tennis Association (AMTA) will be having the Spring 2024 meeting at Smoke Tree Ranch in Palm Springs, California again.  The BNP Paribas tennis tournament at Indian Wells will be running from March 4-17, 2024, so our meeting will correspond with the second week as we meet from check-in on Sunday afternoon 3/10 to check out Friday morning, 3/15/2024.  We have contracted for these dates, so you can make your plans accordingly.  Continuing Medical Education will be provided through the Craig Broome Memorial Medical Lectures on March 11 – 14 2024.  The American Academy of Family Physicians endorses AAFP Prescribed credit which is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credits.

The refurbishment of the two clay courts is being finished this month at STR so that they will be in excellent shape for our meeting.  This is good news for those who like low impact on the knees and hips.  We have arranged for the dinner time to be extended with the kitchen service staying open until 8:30 pm for those who enjoy some rest before a later dinner starts after a vigorous day of tennis.  The dining area will stay open until 9:30 p.m., letting us enjoy the wonderful outdoor setting.

December 1, 2023, will be when registration forms can be sent in for the 2024 meeting.  We had some technical difficulties with the website this summer and will not be doing any online registration or payments.  Registration forms will be able to be emailed, texted, or snail-mailed to us as they have been in the past.  Check the website mdtennis.org at that time to obtain the registration form.

Last Spring, we had a great meeting despite some unusual rainfall.  Everyone adapted to changing schedules for CME and the tennis, and we got it all done.  This Summer, the Palm Springs area had historic rainfall, but Smoke Tree Ranch was spared and did not damage the facilities.  We look forward to seeing you back, catching up, and playing some good tennis.
