Take an AMTA bus to the Barnes Tennis & Meeting Center. An introduction of dignitaries and a review of the week’s schedule will occur. There will be a short tribute to Dr. Homer Peabody (1919-2005), a longtime AMTA member and WMTS participant as well as the organizer of the l985 WMTS San Diego meeting. He was the visionary instrumental in getting the Barnes Tennis & Meeting Center built. An evening with cash soft-drink bar, reception and heavy hors d’oeuvres will follow.

SPECIAL DINNER – USS MIDWAY FLIGHT DECK

AMTA buses will leave the 3 hotels at 18:00 hours for the USS Midway. Board the impressive 1001 foot USS Midway. Commissioned in 1945, she served proudly until 1992 during the Korean War, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. The lead ship of her class, she was the first aircraft carrier built that was too large to pass through the Panama Canal.

A cash bar reception on the flight deck overlooking Mission Bay and the San Diego skyline will begin at 18:30. Inspect the many military aircraft on display or take a tour with a docent. Watch the sun go down on Mission Bay while dining on the flight deck.

The Presidents' meeting will be held in the Portofino Room at the Hilton Conference Center. The Presidents' dinner is immediately following in the Terrazza Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel overlooking the hotel terrace and pool. The Presidents' meeting and dinner is for active Presidents' of member countries.
