AMELIA ISLAND 2002 TOURNAMENT SUMMARY

50 participants and 5 guests spent 5 days at the Amelia Island Plantation, with only 1 day of rain. But, of course, it was like a tropical island. 23 clay courts and the home of the Pro Women's Tour every April made it a wonderful spot for AMTA. The food as well as the tennis was outstanding.

Monday, Oct. 14, 2003, we held a farewell dinner to Sheryl Treadwell as Executive Director and hello as a relaxed participant. Terry supplied a wonderful slide show with Phong Nguyen singing Sheryl a solo-that man of many talents. As a final tribute AMTA presented Sheryl with a lovely Waterford crystal footed bowl with Cal & Ginger Nash, Pat & Jim Manion, Lon & Betty Olsen, and Phong singing a "So Long Song."
