  • Exciting Tennis Competition
If you like tennis you will love AMTA events. Whether you are looking for fast tournament action, competition at the level of tennis club play, or informative clinics for beginners, you will find the action to challenge your skills and improve your game. A comprehensive format promises plenty of tennis play for all levels of competition.

All of the tournaments at AMTA meetings are compass draws. This means that you are likely to play a match every day in every event you enter. You may enter men's or women's singles, doubles, mixed or odd couples doubles. Physicians and their spouses may enter as many as 3 events. Many, but not all, spouses play.

  • Post-Graduate Education for CME Credit
In addition to competitive tennis playing and socializing, your attendance at an AMTA scientific meeting can earn you anywhere from 9 to 16 hours of elective CME credit.

The finest minds in medicine (fellow AMTA members) present informative lecture at our AMTA meetings on multi-specialty topics. Click here to see the line-up of speakers and topics at one of our recent meetings.

  • Results & Pictures of Recent Tournaments
Get the results of the tournaments and pictures of all of your favorite attendees in action. After each event these will be posted on this website for your viewing pleasure. Go to the 'Past Events' section and browse some of our most recent tournament results.
  • Beautiful Resorts
The AMTA conducts several meetings each year in the United States and participates in the annual convocation of the World Medical Tennis Society held at exciting international locations. A few of the national locations are listed below. (Click on the links below to see the resorts)

  • Smoke Tree Ranch, Palm Springs, CA
  • Kingsmill, Williamsburg, VA
  • Waterville Valley, NH
  • San Destin, Destin, FL
  • Shadow Mountain, Palm Desert, CA
  • The Inn at Gray Rocks, Mt Tremblant, Quebec
  • Hilton Head, SC
  • Resort at Longboat Key, Longboat Key, FL
  • Information Network
Meetings provide a great opportunity, in an informal setting, to engage in a productive scientific interchange with your peers. This has proven to be as beneficial and meaningful as the lectures themselves.
  • Relaxing Social Acitivities
Lifelong friendships are made through the American Medical Tennis Association. We get to know each other on the tennis court, at the scientfic sessions and at the social functions. The flavor of the social functions is in tune with the resort we are attending. Some of the members like to get together to explore local restaurants, have wine tasting parties, or go dancing. Other call the resort masseuse to massage weary muscles!

The AMTA meeting format includes get-acquainted cocktail parties on the evening of registration and concludes with a banquet dinner on teh final evening. An important part of your association with AMTA and your participation in the meetings is the friendships you will make - priceless, lifelong friendships with people who share your enthusiasm for medicine and tennis alike.

  • Membership in the WMTS
As an AMTA member you also become a member of the World Medical Tennis Society, which consists of physicians and their families from 50 countries. Each year a new country hosts a WMTS event and members are invited to participate in these international tournaments. In 2004 we went to Austria and this coming August we will be in Poland.
